Dream Sports Foundation has launched “Back on Track”, an initiative that aims to support and provide financial aid to athletes, professionals, and associated stakeholders in the Indian sports ecosystem.
It comes bearing no surprise that in the past few months, the sports industry and culture have taken a massive hit due to the lockdowns and restrictions. The pandemic has affected the practices, facilities and the supply chain involved in sports. Small and marginal business owners have run out of options. But most importantly, it has afflicted the coaches, staff, and of course, the athletes moral and financial support system.
We want to identify anyone in the Indian sports ecosystem that requires help in these uncertain times and beyond. From athletes and their families to coaches, referees and other individuals directly or indirectly connected to sport, women and girls involved in sport and relevant organisations and NGOs in sport. These are individuals who have dedicated their lives to sports. The sole source of their subsistence is Sports, but due to the current situation, they are unable to focus on their training and development needs and are forced to find other ways of subsistence and remuneration.
We hope this initiative will help reinvigorate the sports ecosystem in these difficult times. And we intend to build on this support over the next few years for long lasting and meaningful impact.
